Hi Heidi,
Thanks for the reply and tips! I’m not in a relationship right now but am ready to start dating. The last guy I dated pointed out that I wasn’t expressive with my words and felt I wasn’t that interested in him because of that (even though I would cook dinner, make plans, etc since my love language is more “acts of service”). I do think it’s important to express my admiration and give compliments so I’m here to learn.:) For example, he told me that his previous girlfriends admired his work and I wasn’t as impressed… because I never said much about it. I just don’t really know what to say except “that’s great that your work helps people”.. I’m not sure how to gush on about it.
Another thing I need help with is expressing gratitude when someone gives me a compliment or pays for dinner, etc. Besides “thank you” I don’t know of what to say to show that I’m SUPER grateful for their kind words or actions.
For the triggering questions, I was just hoping to get some examples for when starting to date…
Any advice is much appreciated. Many thanks!
