I think his fear may have something to do with his dad. He lost his dad about 5 years ago and very rarely spoke about him. I got the impression they were fairly close. But I do know his dad was a very heavy drinker and would abuse his mum after drinking a lot. He himself has been a heavy drinker in the past but he rarely drinks now. He is very protective of his mum. I don’t know when his parents separated but they definitely weren’t together when his dad passed away. Also his brother was married but his wife took her own life leaving 4 children behind. That may have affected him? His sister has also recently married. He is the oldest of his siblings.
